Additional information: The National Council, Boy Scouts of America, chartered the Theodore Roosevelt Council, Boy Scouts of America in 1917. In September 1997, the council changed its name from the Nassau County Council to recognize and honor Theodore Roosevelt, its founder and first Council Commissioner. Serving over 17,000 Nassau County young people annually, the Theodore Roosevelt Council is proud of its long heritage and service to Nassau County. It operates under the guidance of an exceptional Executive Board, led by Council President, Joseph Mancino, Council Commissioner Stephen R. Herman and Scout Executive Edward A McLaughlin III. The Council Service Center is located at 544 Broadway (5 blocks North of the L.I.R.R.'s Massapequa Station), on the Northeast corner of Broadway and Michigan Avenue in Massapequa. The purpose of the Boy Scouts of America—incorporated on February 8, 1910, and chartered by Congress in 1916—is to provide an educational program for boys and young adults to build character, to train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and to develop personal fitness.

Additional information: Dr. Barbra McCune Mission Dr.Barbra McCune has been on a life journey of helping people: social worker, physician assistant, doctor. But it wasn't until she combined her desire to help the sick with her love of God that the journey found its true path. And so Dr Barbra continues her fifth year of tending to the poorest of the poor in Honduras: abandoned children in El Hogar, the critically ill in Hospital Escuela, and the chronically ill in Dr. Barbra's own clinic (which has no running water) while she continues her second year of seminary study (at night, in Spanish) to be ordained an Episcopal priest. In all of this, Barbra receives no official financial support. Barbra is able to continue God's work only thru the donations of individuals like you...
