Additional information: Terence Cardinal Cooke Health Care Center is a 729 bed residential care facility serving people with AIDS, Huntington's Disease, the frail elderly, and children with severe disabilities. In addition, a large dialysis clinic and comprehensive multidisciplinary clinic for people with Developmental Disabilities provides outpatient services to a large and very needy population in the East Harlem area and beyond.
Through its nursing home services to people who are elderly, its 156 bed facility for people with AIDS, its 48 bed facility which cares for victims of Huntington's disease, and its 50 bed Specialty Hospital, which provides a home for children too sick to be cared for in their own homes, as well as its outpatient clinics, the Center reaches out to the disenfranchised and provides hope to those for whom many have given up hope.
