Additional information: The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers, guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. The American Red Cross of Massachusetts Bay (ARCMB), one of the largest chapters in the nation, is responsible for providing services across 127 cities and towns in eastern Massachusetts with a combined population of almost four million. With an annual operating budget of over $13 million, ARCMB mobilizes nearly 2,200 volunteers and over 80 staff annually to provide services to more than 300,000 people. Headquartered in Boston, ARCMB has area offices located in Brockton, Fall River, Melrose, New Bedford, Peabody, Quincy, and Waltham that serve as local sites for community programs, volunteer recruitment and disaster preparedness and response. With a network of volunteers that annually provide more than 100,000 hours of service, ARCMB is one of the largest volunteer organizations in Massachusetts.

Additional information: Angel's Gate is the first, 501-C3 non-profit, residential, hospice, rehabilitation center and sanctuary for animals. Here, animals who are terminally or critically ill or physically challenged come to live out their days, at our home, in peace, dignity and love. Our holistic care focuses on wellness and quality of life. We provide for the physical, emotional, spiritual needs of each animal. Additional information: Dear Friends: Our gratitude goes out to those who have made our progress possible. Your friendship, loyalty and good will have inspired us to meet the challenge of every new decade. The year was 1956. There were no facilities available to teach the multiply handicapped blind and severely retarded even the basic skills of daily living. There were only warehousing institutions. Among the countless numbers of anguished, frustrated parents, six parents were determined to find a way to make a better life for their children. As Robert Frost wrote, they"...took the road less traveled by and that made all the difference." And the road continues... Today, the AABR, with a devoted staff of five hundred, is dedicated to the principles of quality care and personal growth. They are sensitive to the special needs of the handicapped. They encourage while they teach, inspire where there is a hint of talent, praise their efforts, reassure their timid attempts and applaud their successes. We are determined that each person in our care reach their highest level of capability. Past reflections inspire us to future visions. Our ideology is "To strive, to seek, to find and not to yield."
