The vision of the National Association of Mothers’ Centers is a society in which the work of taking care of others is valued, supported, at the center of public discussion and a priority in public policy.

The NAMC is the leading organization that recognizes the challenges, realities and importance of mothering, offering programs that educate and support mothers in local centers, in libraries and in the workplace, as well as doing advocacy in the fields of postpartum depression, early care and education, work/life balance and the economic impact of being a care giver.

 

The mission of the National Association of Mothers’ Centers is:

  • to create a network of centers and programs by and for mothers
  • to raise awareness of and promote maternal well being
  • to be a resource for its individual and center members
  • to advocate for public policies that value the work of care giving.

 

NAMC Programs include:

  • Mothers’ Centers and Mother Center Circles
  • Circle of Caring Programs for women recovering from Postpartum Depression
  • Workplace programs for employees caring for children and/or elderly parents
  • Annual Work / Life Conference
  • Mothers Ought To Have Equal Rights Initiative addressing the economic impact of being a caregiver www.MothersOughtToHaveEqualRights.org
